The Chatham Community Fire Protection District serves the citizens of its District through a Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees for the Chatham Community Fire Protection District is made up of three (3) residents of the district who are appointed by the Sangamon County Board. The Chatham Fire Protection District currently has seven Officers.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees have a President, Secretary and a Treasurer. They perform and are responsible for the administrative duties of the Department. The Board of Trustees appoints the Chief of the Department, Assistant Chief, Division Chief, Board of Fire Commissioners and all volunteer members.
The Chatham Community Fire Protection District Board of Trustees conducts all district business on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at the Fire Station at 5:30pm. The public is welcome to attend.
Fire Commissioners
The Chatham Community Fire Protection District has a Board of Fire Commissioners. The Fire Commissioners are responsible for the hiring and for disciplinary actions of the full time staff. The Chatham Community Fire Protection District Board of Fire Commissioners conducts all business on the third Tuesday of the month. The Board of Fire Commissioners meetings are open to the public.
Chief Officers
The Chief Officers are made up of a Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, and Division Chief.
Staff Officers
The Staff Officers are made up of two Captain and four Lieutenant positions. The Captain and Lieutenant positions are made up of both volunteer and paid positions.
